For years, I used a basic Parkside circular saw from Lidl. It was cheap, loud, and not exactly precise — but somehow, it helped me renovate my entire house. I always found a way to get things done, even if it meant extra steps, creative workarounds, and a fair bit of redoing cuts.

Now that the big projects are behind me, I finally decided to invest in a proper saw. Probably not the most logical timing — buying a high-end tool after the main work is done feels a bit silly. But I figured: why not enjoy the smaller projects with a bit more ease and accuracy?

I don’t own many expensive tools — just two or three that I really rely on — so the Festool CSC SYS 50 felt like a big step. It’s compact, cordless, and surprisingly capable for its size. Perfect for my small workshop.

To make the most of it, I built a custom stand using leftover OSB I had lying around. It’s not a showpiece, but it’s solid and practical. The stand includes outfeed tables on the left, right, and back to help support longer cuts. I added a cutout so the crosscut sled can move freely, and there’s a shelf underneath for storing accessories and small tools.

If you're curious, I’ve added a small gallery with pictures below this post. It’s nothing fancy, but I hope it gives a good sense of how the stand works.
